It is a short columnar succulent, from the swollen rootstock.  The few fleshy branches are covered in closely packed leaves with thin cobweb-like hairs. It likes winter’s rest and should be kept completely dry during the winter months. It requires light but regular waterings in summer, but let the soil mix dry between waterings, but do not overwater.  The plants need a bright exposure, full sun, or half shade in summer.
