Copiapoa Serpentisculata cactus is a solitary to strongly branching species. Eventually, the plant can form clusters. The body is grey-green, pale brown to coppery-brown in the full sun. The plant is covered with yellow felt and densely spiny. Protection is needed from excessive heat and sun in summer and seems to do best in cultivation with a bit of shade. Copiapoa Serpentisculata requires light but regular waterings in summer. Good drainage and allow the soil mix to dry between waterings. Don’t overwater as it is prone to rotting. Keeps warm and dry in winter.
Also known as Copiapoa Goldii, Copiapoa Serpentisculata var. Castanea.
Watch your Copiapoa Serpentisculata cactus for the first couple of months to check if they are happy where they are.
The Copiapoa Serpentisculata cactus requires more sunlight if it looks like growing out of shape. Burning is a common fact when having new plants. Best to gradually give them more sunlight as the weeks go by. Instead of placing it in straight sunlight.
Allow them to sit for a week before giving them a good drink. Depending on the season. Make sure they dry out completely before watering again. Don’t forget to give them a spray with soapy water to keep the bugs off them. And provide very good ventilation.
