The variegation comes out more when you give a full sun position.  If you place into the shade the leaves stay green. It becomes a shrub, the leaves semi-tube shape, and also thick stems. It requires semi filtered sunlight to full sunlight. Keep in well-draining soil and with regular watering in summer.
