ECHINOCEREUS FITCHII

The plant grows slowly, columnar shape with short spines along the ribs. The flowers can be pink-purple with a dark burgundy center. Filtered sunlight is best when young but avoid the summer sun as it can burn. It is sensitive to overwatering (rot prone). Needs very good drainage to avoid rotting but requires more moisture than true desert cacti to grow and produce flowers. Repotting is required every 2 years.
