It is a beautiful small barrel cactus with stems covered with dense stout golden-yellow or yellowish-brown spines. The flower is funnel-shaped also can be lemon yellow with reddish central strips. Need a well-drained soil mix with small gravel added to ensure drainage. It is suited for sunny-brightly exposure but can tolerate light shade. Water sparingly and keep it completely dry during winter. Keep dry in winter.
