It has strong brown. dark bluish-pink or almost black spines. The shape of the body is a barrel type. with numerous ribs. Flowers can be red campanulate or funnel-shaped with a white hairy floral tube. Need a well-drained soil mix with small gravel added to ensure drainage. It is suited for sunny-brightly exposure but can tolerate light shade. Water sparingly and keep it completely dry during winter. Keep dry in winter.
