It is a dwarf, low-growing cactus, offsets rapidly to form a clump with many pups. Each heads has white spider-like spines over a green body. The large flowers can be red/orange in colour. It needs a bright exposure, part shade in summer. The plant should be watered regularly in Summer allowing to dry before watering again also kept drier in Winter. They grow best in well-drained soil also to keep the roots cool in summer.
