It is a basally branching columnar cactus, forming low clumps, with few to several upright or sprawling, stems. The flowers can be funnel-form to bell-shaped, red to yellow to orange. Outside full sun, inside needs bright light and some direct sun. It needs a fertile, well-drained soil mix. Water the plants well also allow them to dry before watering again.
